Employee Spotlight: Shahla Chowdhury
Sometimes, relaunching one’s career means rejoining the workforce after a lengthy time away. Other times, as is the case with Shahla Chowdhury, joining our company's Engineering ReLaunch program means a chance to reshape a career.
In her former role, Chowdhury was as a university research associate and lecturer, where she said she “managed a 3D prototyping lab and led industrial projects.” She stepped away to raise her son, taking a two-year break from the work force. Once she felt comfortable her son was adjusting well to daycare, she began thinking about getting back what she “always enjoyed doing.”
Chowdhury recently joined our company's Engineering ReLaunch program, a specialized 12-week, paid professional “returnship” designed to help engineers restart their careers. She said she was attracted to our company's commitment to empowering women in engineering, as well as its reputation for sustainability, innovation and creating a productive work environment.
The program itself will provide professional development, mentoring, training, and networking -- while also allowing Chowdhury and her fellow trainees to receive hands-on instruction with our company's well-known brands like Thermo King, Trane, and others.
“The reLaunch program fit with my situation perfectly,” said Chowdhury, “so I felt it was a great opportunity to come back.”
