On Campus in September

It’s back-to-school season for our company! During this time of year,
our Early Talent team travels across the country to visit universities
and get to know students like you. As we hit the road, we want to give
you a chance to get to know us and learn a little more about
our company culture.
Want to connect with us? Then come see us on campus and check out
our campus tour dates below! We hope to meet you!

Joe Mott, Talent Acquisition Partner, Early Talent
I am a results-oriented, high-energy HR professional with 19+ years of proven performance in full-cycle recruiting, managing key business partner relationships, and attracting top talent for technical and non-technical skill sets. I have been with our company for the past five years, focusing on direct-hire Engineering roles for three years and most recently supporting the Early Talent space for the past two years. I currently support Engineering, HR and IT for intern and post-graduation leadership development opportunities across the country.
What would you share with students on our organizational culture?
I think our company's culture is one of the main reasons I came to the company and have stayed the past five years. Everyone works together really well to achieve goals, and as I like to say, we are all rowing the boat in the same direction.
What’s key for me is that all that we do at our company is done in an authentic way, which is really important to me. We set aggressive goals on things like sustainability, diversity and inclusion and then work to achieve those goals by everyone doing their part across the enterprise. I like being a part of something bigger and this company has provided that and then some. When we are all working together on common goals that start at the top and work their way down, it is extremely gratifying and exciting to see how our work contributes to that end goal.

Shannon Wade, Talent Acquisition Partner, Early Talent
I am a Talent Acquisition Partner on our Early Talent team, supporting recruitment for our enterprise internship program and Accelerated Development Program (ADP) in Operations, Marketing, and Accounting/Finance. I am an alum of the enterprise internship program and ADP in Human Resources - so, it is particularly exciting to be on campus talking to students about the specific career path I chose when I was in their shoes as a student at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!).
What would you share with students on our organizational culture?
My favorite thing about our culture to share with students is our focus on innovation. No matter the functional area of the business you work within, you have the freedom to be creative in adding a new perspective or in experimenting with new concepts. Sometimes you are successful, sometimes you “fail fast,” - and each is a celebrated outcome in our business. I learned so much through the ability to try new approaches and fail within a safety net of mentors, colleagues, & business leaders that applauded the courage to try something we had not before.
You will find me on campus at Michigan State University September 9-20, and I hope you will stop by and say “hello.” In addition to chatting about our company, you can always find me ready to talk about traveling, my two bulldogs (Jolene & Louise) and your favorite food recommendations near campus.

Audrey Uczen, Talent Acquisition Partner, Early Talent
I am primarily responsible for recruiting early talent to participate in our sales internships and full-time Graduate Training Program (GTP) for the Trane Commercial business. I have been with the company for almost four years, starting my career as a human resources intern for Trane. I recently completed the Accelerated Development Program, rotating across various business units and locations within the company, and am now based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I graduated with a B.S. in Business Management from Appalachian State University and earned a MHR from the University of South Carolina. I enjoy cold brew coffee, keeping up with fashion and traveling to new places.
What would you share with campus talent on our organizational culture?
Our published culture and values are truly reflective of what I experience day-to-day. As a recent graduate of the Human Resources early talent rotational program, I am now in my fifth role and team with the company. I spend more waking time with my coworkers than with my friends and family, so it is important for me to work alongside people who share the same values and enable a diverse and inclusive culture. Our employees make up our culture, and our culture is why I choose to continue working for this company.

Crystal Williams, Talent Acquisition Partner, Early Talent
I am a Talent Acquisition Partner for Trane, focused on attracting top candidates for our early talent technical sales engineering program. Prior to joining this company seven years ago, I was a Sales Account Manager for a high-tech print manufacturing company, where I managed a defined territory to create growth strategies that improved market share and increased net profit. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management from Liberty University. To unwind, I enjoy watching football with friends and family (a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan!). I also enjoy traveling and reading self-empowerment books; always seeking opportunities to continue learning and growing.
What would you share with campus talent on our organizational culture?
I am proud to work for a company that is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equality by creating an environment where employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work every day.

Emily Michelsen, Talent Acquisition Partner, Early Talent
I joined Trane, in 2014 as a Human Resources/Marketing Coordinator, supporting the Commercial HVAC Great Northern Plains district. In 2017, I joined the Early Talent team as the Talent Acquisition Candidate Experience Specialist. In July, I transitioned to the Talent Acquisition Partner role.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Rhetoric and Media Studies from Willamette University and am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Concordia University. I completed my SHRM-CP certification in 2016. I am originally from Seattle, Washington and currently reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Fun Fact: I used to be uncomfortably shy but moving ten times while growing up quickly fixed that!
What would you share with campus talent on our organizational culture?
What I have seen consistently throughout my time with this company is how much people care for one another both professionally and personally. The employees here push each other to be the best we can be in and outside of work . Our company has a strong commitment to our employees as a whole person! I am excited to meet you while on campus, and I would love to share my personal experiences of our amazing culture with you.
Wondering where we will be? Here is a list of our on campus dates. We would love to meet you, so come stop by!
