Sales Engineering with Trane

PA GTPs.png

Trane is on campus for spring recruiting! This year we are looking for candidates to join as a Sales Engineer Intern and Sales Engineers – Graduate Training Program, which is a program designed to develop Engineers for a career in technical sales. Hear from a few of our current GTP employees as they discuss their experience as Sales Engineers in our Pennsylvania offices. The Lehigh Valley and Southcentral Pennsylvania areas are booming with economic growth in the Northeast Corridor, making for a great place to begin a career in technical sales.

Vincent DeAngelis

Vincent DeAngelis is a Services Account Manager who attended our Graduate Training Program for Trane in our Wilkes Barre, PA office.  He began his career with the Company as an intern. This first-hand experience gave him full insight into what Trane had to offer. He found that working with Trane he would have many opportunities to grow both financially and personally, but most importantly his background in Mechanical Engineering and his love for working with people made this role a perfect fit for him. Some might say that working in our Pennsylvania office isn’t the most desirable location, but Vincent thinks otherwise. He also enjoys working with the people in his office, because it has a personal and relaxed feel where everyone knows everyone. Vincent says it feels like he works with friends, not just co-workers.

Ryan James

Ryan James began his career with Trane as an Intern. He enjoyed his experience so much that he accepted a full time role in our Graduate Training Program after his graduation from Lehigh University. He choose to use his Engineering degree in technical sales because he loves the challenges that the role brings to him every day and finds the work rewarding. Ryan is based in our Harrisburg office and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Why, you might ask? Well, it’s because of the team mentality in the office. Everyone has a strong family dynamic and goes the extra mile to help each other out!

Paige Grossman

After completing two internships with Trane, Paige Grossman joined the team full time in our Graduate Training Program. Her current rotation is located in our Harrisburg office. There she does Controls Sales, which means that she aims to provide the best building automation solution for her customers during the construction process.  She loves that no two projects are the same, bring their own challenges and interest to the job.  Paige didn’t always know that she wanted a career in Sales Engineering, but after some research and connecting with other Lehigh alumni at Trane her interest was validated. Something she has found pivotal in her time with Trane is that her co-workers are always willing to help!

Michael DeLancey

Michael Delancy first heard about Trane at a career fair during his senior year at Penn State University. There he learned about our Graduate Training Program, a program that would allow him to combine his degree as a Manufacturing Engineer with his enthusiasm for working with people.  He was instantly hooked on the idea of joining a company that invested so much in their employee’s development and he immediately accepted his offer to begin his career with Trane as a Sales Engineer in July of 2016. He credits the biggest reason why he sticks around is because of the people he works with. He describes the people he works with in the Wilkes Barre office as family and says that everyone is committed to the success of the team, a company culture he is proud of.
