Why Culture, Commitment and Community Matter to BusinessTrane Technologies’ Chair and CEO, Dave Regnery, describes the relationship between a strong culture, business and communities.
Our uplifting culture drives our business success. We believe the diverse experiences and perspectives of our team members strengthen our ability to develop innovative solutions that help our customers, and our business, grow.
We take deliberate steps to cultivate a growth-oriented culture that embodies our Leadership Principles and encourages our people to boldly challenge what’s possible for a sustainable world. We achieve that by creating a work environment where our people uplift each other, make an impact on our planet and in our communities, and thrive at work and at home.
We asked our people across the company to help develop the guiding principles for our culture that will enable us to lead now and into the future. We call these our leadership principles. We use them to guide our actions and decisions each day as we boldly go.
We work today for a sustainable tomorrow.
We keep customers at the heart of all we do.
We include and uplift one another.
We make better happen.
We dare to do things differently.
We own our actions and decisions.
We do what’s right, always.
We strengthen our culture through Business Resource Groups and localized Inclusion Networks. Our BRGs and Inclusion Networks are voluntary, open to all team members and create a sense of belonging and opportunities for support and connection. They also play an important role in our business through community involvement, brand advocacy, recruiting, and shaping business and target market insights. BRGs include several thousand members who organize community engagement, knowledge exchange and networking events for employees globally.
Our BRGs include:
To grow for the future, and sustain our uplifting culture, we need to attract, develop and retain talent that supports and advances our business strategy and goals. We strive to reach a broad talent pool that helps us accelerate innovation and new ideas that meet the needs of our global customer base.
We work closely with external organizations to help us bridge the growing skilled labor gap, create a pipeline of highly skilled talent, and support industry career development. We proudly collaborate with Opportunity at Work, a non-profit coalition dedicated to hiring skilled talent through alternative routes, which prioritizes skills and experience for workforce entry and removes the requirement of degrees where unnecessary.
We also collaborate with organizations such as National Association of Manufacturers, Society for Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, that help us broaden our talent pipeline.
Our 2030 Sustainability Commitments guide our actions and ambitions – including our commitment to creating Opportunity for All by uplifting our people and communities. We invest in our people and a culture where everyone can grow and thrive; and we give back in our communities to support the next generation of the workforce with the potential to transform our world. We hold ourselves accountable by sharing our progress in our annual Sustainability Report.
Trane Technologies’ EEO-1 Report is a composition of our U.S. workforce and uses federally mandated job categories and definitions, which differs from how Trane Technologies categorizes roles and measures workforce diversity. We believe that our Sustainability Report provides a more comprehensive view of our global workforce and efforts to create opportunity for all.
