Diversity & Inclusion

Creating a diverse, inclusive culture, where everyone can thrive

We are committed to creating an uplifting environment and nurturing an inclusive culture where representation matters and people feel empowered. This comes to life in how we are taking action to cultivate a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Our Approach to Diversity & Inclusion

Part of our team members’ ability to thrive at work and at home is being able to bring their authentic selves to work every day. To cultivate inclusivity, we promote and enable employee-led networks that bring people together, spark conversation, and create community and understanding. We strive to provide development opportunities that deepen compassion and understanding, and we work to remove systemic barriers to success with our policies and procedures. Our plan for enhancing Diversity & Inclusion is organized into the following strategies.

Our approach to diversity and inclusion

Inclusive Culture

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

We activate our inclusive culture through ERGs and Inclusion Networks that serve as a catalyst for our people to learn about other cultures, embrace differences, and appreciate the strength and value of our diverse workforce.

Our ERGs include several thousand members who organize community engagement, knowledge exchange and networking events for employees globally. Our ERGs include:

  • Women’s Employee Network
  • Black Employee Network
  • PRIDE: LGBT + Allies Employee Network
  • Global Organization of Latinos
  • InterGenerational Employee Network
  • Asian Employee Resource Group
  • Veteran’s Employee Resource Group
  • VisAbility Employee Resource Group

Building a diverse workforce

To increase diverse representation in our global workforce, we take steps to attract, interview, hire, and retain candidates from diverse backgrounds. We partner with universities, key industry, and professional organizations to recruit early and mid-level talent. Below are just a few of our partners.

Our partners in accountability

We aspire to achieve racial equity and social justice around the world, so we directly support several industry initiatives that help us engage with stakeholders. These groups also help guide our Diversity & Inclusion policies, practices, and commitments.

CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion

We were among the first companies to join CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion in 2017. Each member company is urged to create open, trusting environments where they can have complex, sometimes difficult, dialogue about diversity and inclusion. Each year our Chair and CEO hosts a CEO-led Day of Understanding when thousands of employees from across our organization meet to discuss diversity and inclusion topics.

ESG Report: Measuring Progress

Trane Technologies’ 2022 EEO-1 Report is available here. The EEO-1 report is a composition of our U.S. workforce and uses federally mandated job categories and definitions, which differs from how Trane Technologies categorizes roles and measures workforce diversity. We believe that our ESG report, provides a more meaningful reflection of our global workforce and the effectiveness of Trane Technologies’ diversity and inclusion efforts.
