Employees Walk to Fight Heart Disease
Thermo King® and Trane® employees take an active role in addressing social issues that impact our company and communities. With heart disease as the leading cause of death in America, the company has supported the American Heart Association for more than eight years to raise awareness, educate employees and fund heart-healthy programming in the cities where we work and live.
This year, more than 100 employees and their family members joined together for the Greater Charlotte Heart Walk, which drew more than 10,000 people. This marks the eighth year that our employees have joined the American Heart Association in its efforts to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living.
In addition to the Heart Walk, the company celebrates the annual National Go Red for Women Day when employees don red in support of the cause. Women employees at our company also create shared experiences with other Charlotte-based women during the Annual Go Red for Women Luncheon. It also engages in the annual Heart Ball, which supports investments in advancing efforts to change the health outcome of those impacted by heart disease and stroke. This year, the company began partnering with the AHA to support a requirement for all high school students to receive life-saving CPR training before graduation.
As a resource for company philanthropy and humanitarian work, the Foundation, enables our company to advance its efforts in creating a world of sustainable progress. To achieve the goal of advancing the quality of life, our company has developed charitable partnerships with organizations, such as the American Heart Association, to help build comfortable, efficient and educated communities.
