Our sustainability commitments are elevated by ambition and rooted in science
Scaling Sustainability
From bold commitments to measurable progress
Global challenges inspire bold thinking, and Trane Technologies continues to scale sustainability through bold near- and long-term commitments. Since setting our first climate commitments in 2014, and exceeding them two years early, we have continued to raise our ambition and make measurable progress toward our 2030 Sustainability Commitments and 2050 net-zero carbon target, including reducing 331 million mtCO2e from customers’ carbon footprints and reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by 59% since 2019.
Our progress reflects a disciplined, science-based approach across innovation, operations and people. With three sets of emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), a first in our sector, we are turning bold commitments into measurable action and lasting impact.

Our 2030 Sustainability Commitments
Committed to Net-Zero by 2050
Our 2030 commitments reflect the actions we are taking now to bend the curve on climate change, but our efforts won't stop there. Once we achieve our near-term targets, we will continue efforts to achieve our long-term goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. Our approach is aligned with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) and is among the first corporate net-zero goal to be validated by SBTi among all sectors. Learn more about our Net-Zero 2050 target and the steps we plan to take to get there in our Climate Transition Plan.
A coalition of accountability
Within and beyond our sector, we take part in coalition building groups and join like-minded alliances in the pursuit of a better planet. These coalitions help keep us accountable as we strive to do the right thing and carry out our goals.
