Pablo Agurcia's journey shows how bravely embracing differences can unlock creativity, connection and purpose.
What started as a leap of faith for Pablo Agurcia became a transformative journey of professional growth, personal discovery and finding strength in what sets him apart.
How Pablo Brings Creativity and Courage to a Culture of Inclusion
I'm Pablo Agurcia and I'm the creative director at Trane Technologies. As creative director of Trane Technologies, what I get to do every day is bring our brand to life. So I am at heart a storyteller and an illustrator, so I always know wanted to create stuff with my hands and help people take complex ideas and express them in a way that's creative and easy to consume. And the fact that I get to do that as my job is really exciting. One of my favorite things about working at Trane Technologies and what it really means to me deep down when I kind of boil it all down, I love that I have a place where I can come into work and support an organization that doesn't just talk the talk but walks the walk about creating sustainability. It's a huge impact on the planet and knowing that I can help tell that story, it's good to know that what I'm doing could have a really big impact on the world and the environment. Not having been diagnosed with ADHD younger in life, it just made me feel like something was wrong with just my capacity. And there was this fear in me to acknowledge that I had this hidden disability because I thought that it came with a lot of stigma. I learned to kind of have give myself grace about that and say, oh, that literally is true, your brain isn't wired the same way as other people. And then when I started talking about it, I realized how a lot of it it opened the door for a lot of people. To share about their disabilities, too, and stuff that they've been dealing with. Breaking that stigma around mental health in adults and especially in men, I think it's important for us to be open about that. And I know that creating that safe space and saying, oh, that's me and that's OK has been really probably one of my favorite things about having gotten diagnosed. The Hidden Disabilities program I think is really interesting. And then when I heard that we were doing it at Trane Technologies, it really made me feel like, oh, we're we really thinking about ways of making this space safe and inclusive for everybody. And it just made me really proud to work here.
A creative calling
Pablo Agurcia has always been a storyteller and illustrator at heart. He thrives on taking complex ideas and expressing them in creative ways that blend strategic thinking with refined artistic skill.
“I always knew I wanted to create stuff with my hands,” Pablo said. “And the fact that I get to do that as my job is really exciting.”
Originally from Honduras, Pablo studied advertising in college and joined Trane Technologies shortly after graduation. He was inspired not only by the opportunity to apply his creativity in the real world, but also by the company’s bold commitment to sustainability and its promise to challenge what's possible for future generations.
Advancing personal and professional momentum
Over time, Pablo evolved from supporting regional creative production in Latin America to leading global brand creative efforts at the enterprise level. As a Creative Director, he works to simplify complex ideas and inspire meaningful action through design, storytelling, and illustration. The variety keeps him both motivated and excited.
Along the way, he also achieved the major milestone of becoming a U.S. citizen. He credits Trane Technologies with helping make that dream a reality. The company took a chance on him early in his career, and he is proud to return that trust by helping to advance its mission to create a more sustainable future.
An aha moment
For much of his life, Pablo felt like he experienced the world a little differently. He often struggled with focus and restlessness, especially in traditional work environments. Receiving an Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnosis in his thirties provided Pablo with clarity.
Learning that his brain was simply wired a bit differently helped Pablo make sense of how he works best. The diagnosis explained why he needed to sketch during meetings to stay focused, why his feet would not stop moving in school and why he thrived by jumping between different creative challenges.
From stigma to strength
Rather than viewing ADHD as a limitation, Pablo learned to see it as part of what makes him effective. His ability to switch gears quickly and explore different directions is an asset in creative work.
Initially hesitant to share his diagnosis, Pablo discovered when he began talking openly about it that others began to share their own experiences with hidden disabilities.
Breaking that stigma around mental health, especially in adults and especially in men, I think it is important for us to be open about that.

His willingness to be vulnerable helped create a safe space for others to share their own experiences and gain understanding of each other.
When Trane Technologies launched its Hidden Disabilities Program, Pablo felt especially proud. Seeing the company embrace this initiative reinforced for him just how deeply inclusion and belonging are embedded in Trane Technologies’ culture.
A culture of purpose and caring
Pablo approaches every project as an opportunity to support Trane Technologies’ commitment to a sustainable future. Whether building a campaign, illustrating a concept or simplifying a technical idea, he sees communication as a catalyst for change.
His creative versatility, fueled in part by his ADHD, allows him to adapt quickly and stay engaged.
At Trane Technologies, Pablo found more than a job. He found a place that invests in potential, values authenticity and empowers employees to make a profound and lasting impact.
